Ever wonder what would happen if Aesop’s Fables and Mother Goose Rhymes ended up in the hands of a Hare Krishna?  Well I did and here’s what I think would happen.

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
He sang this mantra in a loud cry
Woke up in the spiritual sky!  Singing…

(Maha Mantra)
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare

Little Boy Blue come blow your horn
The sheep’s in meadow and the cows in the corn
The dogs at the beach going bow-wow-wow
‘Cause the people won’t show them how!  To chant…

(Maha Mantra)

Was an Old Lady who lived in a shoe
She had so many babies didn’t know what to do
She gave them wine, she fed ‘em meat
One day they all ran away to be!

(Maha Mantra)

strisu dustasu varsneya, jayate varna-sankarah*
Folks, we cannot have a good society without good women.  And throughout the history of mankind, there’s always been good womankind.  This verse if dedicated to all the good women of the world.

Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch a pail of water
Jack fell down, broke his crown
Jill bought some glue!

(Maha Mantra)

*adharmābhibhavāt Krishna
  pradusyanti kula-striyah
  strīsu dustāsu vārsneya
  jāyate varna-sankarah

“When irreligion is prominent in the family, O Krishna, the women of the family become polluted, and from the degradation of woman-hood comes unwanted progeny.”  (Bhagavad-gītā 1:40)
